Name: Doug Bonfiglio
Title: R&D Engineer

Meet Doug:
Doug is a creative R&D engineer who is also a born and bred Chevy man!

In Doug's Words:

In addition to product development, the Research and Development team also evaluates competitor products, which is not an easy task when you’re a worldwide company.  We also evaluate new substrate materials, physical vapor deposition coatings, a variety of treatment processes, edge honing methods, surface finish polishing and more. It goes without saying; the work here is always interesting for those with an inquisitive mind.

Hobbies:

My interests outside of work center around anything with rubber tires, particularly cars and motorcycles. I was born a Chevy man and believe drag racing is the only form of motorsport. Being blessed a drag racer and Chevy man means I’m adept at and thoroughly enjoy all forms of car crafting, from fabrication to painting.

I also enjoy motorcycling. I’ve been riding for 14 years now, and knock wood, the shiny side is still up. Most of my riding serves as transportation to and from work, although there is the occasional getaway with friends, which I particularly enjoy. Lately I’ve been thinking of drag racing a bike as a cheaper means of going faster. That’s what I’m thinking. My wife isn’t thinking that, but I am.

I’m a homebody and usually happiest when puttering around the old ranch. The wife and daughter are active in 4H which means I’m active fixing fences, tractors, barns, and whatever other odd job comes along. Fixing anything is a challenge I find enjoyable.

As a final interest, I’d say weightlifting. It’s an on and off habit that I always come back to and a nice challenge for mind and body that might be particularly useful as this youngest daughter of mine nears the dating age.
