-a Haas Associate in California (after testing on a 7 HP Haas Lathe with the following parameters):
Material: 8620
Tool: 1” diameter Z-Carb
Results: The pocket was 1” axial depth and ½” radial depth. A competitive rougher ran 5 parts @ 4 IPM & 600 RPM
But we ran the Z-Carb at 1,000 RPM and 10 IPM and the Z-Carb produced 19 parts!

The end-user reduced their cycle time to just 35 minutes by slotting with a ¾” Z-Carb in Hastalloy B2. The depth of cut was .600!

Tool: ¼” Z-Carb with 3/16” depth of cut
Results: The Z-Carb was tested against a competitive tool by running at 1250 RPM
and 6 IPM. The competitive tool lasted for only 6 parts with a 4 minute cycle
time. The Z-Carb lasted for 20 parts and cycle time was 1:28 seconds.
